This copy of A Shropshire Lad by A. E. Houseman is beautifully illustrated by the illustrator, lithographer, painter and wood-block artist Edward A Wilson (1886-1970). This book was published by The Heritage Press, New York in 1951.
These poems by A. E. Houseman were first published in America in 1896. As well as the poems there are three interesting sections: The History of the Poems, Notes in the Poems and A Critical Garland. These extra items were compiled by Carl J. Weber for the fiftieth anniversary of A Shropshire Lad.
This book is a hardback, housed in a slipcase. The book is in excellent condition. The pages and the colour hand-drawn lithographs are clean in bright. This book is thought to be one of 1500 copies by The Heritage Press.
